About

The CFIA, established by law of the Republic, is dedicated to fulfilling its primary objectives; in this regard, since 2012, the CFIA has been carrying out corporate social responsibility initiatives that go beyond the provisions of its Organic Law.

Committed to the responsible management of its activities and their impact on society, the CFIA has adopted various tools and programs to promote sustainability and social responsibility. Among these initiatives are:

Ecological Blue Flag Program (PBAE)

"Essential Costa Rica" Country Brand Certification

  • Join the UN Global Compact Network
  • Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS)

The CFIA reaffirms its commitment to continuous improvement in pursuit of greater benefits for Costa Rican society; minimizing the impacts of its operations; promoting the Global Compact Principles and the SDGs throughout the value chain; and implementing, among other initiatives, a sustainable procurement manual designed to put the principles of the circular economy into practice.
