About

The CFIA, established by law of the Republic, is dedicated to fulfilling its primary objectives; in this regard, since 2012, the CFIA has been carrying out corporate social responsibility initiatives that go beyond the provisions of its Organic Law.

Committed to the responsible management of its activities and their impact on society, the CFIA has implemented various tools and programs to promote sustainability and social responsibility. These initiatives include:

Eco-Friendly Blue Flag Program (PBAE)

"Essential Costa Rica" Country Brand Certification

  • Join the UN Global Compact Network
  • Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

CFIA’s strategic planning is guided by what we call the “Alignment Compass.” This tool integrates the organization’s five management perspectives and three responsible practices. These practices are designed to positively impact the goals of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and promote the principles of the Global Compact, thereby contributing to the sustainable development sought by both national and international initiatives.
