The CFIA issues digital signatures to its new members; therefore, on the day you submit your documents, you must schedule an appointment with the service provider to receive the digital signature kit, which includes the card, certificate, and card reader.

Applications can only be processed at the COOPENAE offices in San José or at the office located at the CFIA.

Things to consider for your appointment:

  • On the day you submit your registration documents, the service representative will schedule an appointment for you to sign the documents and will provide you with a receipt.
  • You must present this receipt on the day of your appointment.
  • Once you have scheduled your appointment, if you are unable to attend, please notify us by email at firmadigital1@coopenae.fi.cr
  • Please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment time and check in at the reception desk of your chosen Coopenae office.
  • You must submit the most recent voter registration card you obtained from the Electoral Tribunal; it must be in good condition, valid, and fully legible on both sides.
  • On the day of your appointment, you will not be allowed to enter the registration office with anyone else; therefore, please do NOT bring minors or anyone who requires supervision or care.
