Primary Objective
Facilitate the link between training, updating, and professional practice.
Objectives
- Serve as a liaison with academic departments and universities that offer engineering and architecture programs.
- Serve as the executive officer for the General Commission for Professional Development (CGAP).
- Evaluate the updating of competencies for the professional practice of a CFIA member, based on established criteria and procedures.
- Respond to inquiries regarding the professional practice of CFIA members.
- To provide support during the self-evaluation phase to universities undergoing the accreditation process for engineering and architecture programs with the AAPIA.
- To contribute to the strengthening and improvement of management processes in public and private institutions.
- To promote holistic development through sustainable solutions by providing professional development opportunities.
- Promote organizational values for the success of the CFIA strategy.
- Perform executive functions for the Permanent Bipartisan Commission on Professional Certification in Electrical Design for Buildings (COMCAP).
- Perform executive functions for the Permanent Bipartisan Commission on LP Gas Installations.
- To promote the comprehensive development and professional growth of CFIA employees through continuing education.
- To promote the comprehensive development and professional growth of CFIA members through continuing education.
- Implement the continuing education program in accordance with the Special Regulations for the Registration and Regulation of Inspectors Responsible for Overseeing Investment and Quality in Construction Projects within the National Housing Finance System.
- Contribute to the strategic and operational management of local governments through continuous training processes.
- Complete the CFIA Induction and Ethics Course and the UCR Ethics Workshop.
- Complete the Professional Development Requirement for members with Conditional Enforcement or Restorative Justice Benefits
- Provide learning, strengthening, and updating activities to CFIA members and society in general through the asynchronous mode of the Moodle-CFIA platform.
In order to achieve the primary objectives established for the CFIA in its Organic Law, the functions of our department are:
Assess the disciplinary and curricular alignment of engineering and architecture degree programs
Coordination with member colleges, associations, and professional commissions, updating professional profiles
Execute the CFIA Professional Update process

Voluntary withdrawal application procedure
Procedure for updating academic degrees
Conducting comparative studies and establishing criteria for professional practice.

To provide learning, capacity-building, and professional development opportunities to CFIA members and the general public through the asynchronous format of the CFIA Virtual Educational Campus.
