Requirements
The application to renew the license must be submitted on the CFIA service platforms or sent to the following email address: formacion.profesional@cfia.cr.

The applicant must:
- Be licensed to practice.
- Stay up to date with your obligations to the CFIA.
The applicant must:
- Provide proof of at least 24 hours of formal training courses or activities related to updating technical regulations and legislation governing good practices in LPG installations, completed within the last five years prior to applying for renewal.
For the purposes of renewal, teaching hours will be recognized for professionals who have carried out any of the following activities during the period of validity of the License:
- 8 Hours: Active participation in technical committees or associations of CIEMI or CITEC, as applicable, for at least 2 years during the certification period will count toward 8 hours.
- Number of Hours Based on the Duration of Training Provided: Teaching one of the courses in the professional development program will grant a maximum number of hours equal to the duration of the training provided. This applies only once during the certification’s validity period.
- 4 Hours: Publishing a technical article on the topic of LP gas installations in journals with an editorial board may earn a maximum of 4 equivalent hours per certification validity period.
- 4 Hours: Presenting a paper on a topic related to the LP Gas specialty at national or international conferences may earn a maximum of 4 credit hours per certification validity period.
The applicant must:
- Provide evidence that you have carried out inspection work on at least 5 projects, in accordance with the scope defined in the License you wish to renew.
Remember that:
- Once the application has been submitted, if the information is incomplete or otherwise fails to comply with the provisions of these regulations, the applicant will be granted a non-extendable period of 10 business days to correct, supplement, or clarify the deficiencies noted. If the requirements are not met within the deadline, or are not met satisfactorily, the application will be declared inadmissible and ordered to be closed.
- Submission of the application and the corresponding documentation does not guarantee that the applicant will obtain renewal of their license.
- All information and requirements must be submitted in full; applications that do not comply with this requirement will not be accepted.
All documentation must be in Spanish; otherwise, an officially certified translation must be provided.
