About the Professional Continuing Education Certification in Building Electrical Design (CAPDEE)
According to Article 1 of the CFIA’s Special Regulations on Professional Refresher Certification in Building Electrical Design:
CAPDEE is a voluntary recertification system that determines whether a professional registered with the CFIA has completed a valid process demonstrating that they possess up-to-date competencies for professional practice in the design and inspection of electrical, telecommunications, and other systems in buildings.
This certification will be a mandatory requirement for the inspection of electrical installations, in accordance with the provisions of Decree 36979-MEIC RTCR 458:2011, “Regulations for the Official Adoption of the Costa Rican Electrical Code for the Safety of Life and Property,” and its amendments.
