About Registration with the CFIA

The Business Regulations stipulate that, in order to participate in a specific competitive selection process or a specific bidding process, foreign companies may apply for temporary registration for a specific period of time and solely for the purpose of participating in that process.

  • If you need certifications, you must submit a request and pay the corresponding fee. This request will be processed once the temporary registration has been approved.
  • Once the award of the contract becomes final, the company's temporary registration is automatically canceled.
  • Once the final award of the bid or tender has been communicated, the successful bidder must, within 10 business days of receiving the relevant notification, apply to the CFIA for permanent registration. To do so, it must pay the full amount of the applicable registration fees for a company, including the payment for temporary registration, and submit the required registration documents.
  • You will be fined with the loss of your subscription if you do not meet the deadline for permanent registration.
