Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability

Primary Objective

To embed the concepts and best practices of sustainability and social responsibility into the DNA of the CFIA, its members, and other stakeholders, as a way to position the organization as a benchmark for sustainability aligned with the fields of engineering and architecture.

Since 2012, we have followed a clear roadmap aligned with the CFIA’s Social Responsibility and Sustainability policies, as approved by the General Board of Directors. Our approach focuses on contributing to sustainable development in environmental, social, and governance terms, which is why the Department’s strategic planning is based on a balanced scorecard with four management perspectives that address the triple bottom line assessment conducted in the area of sustainability.

In this regard, this Department views training as the most important tool for achieving the corporate sustainability indicators. Training for employees and the value chain (upstream and downstream), as well as support for professional association members and members of civil society, help achieve these goals and minimize the impacts of the organization’s operations.

Streamlining management processes has become essential to success, and the Corporate Sustainability Department is no exception. Coordinating two categories of the Blue Ecological Flag Program (Sustainable Construction and Sustainable Mobility) has required standardizing our actions and engagement with stakeholders, which has led us to implement a sustainability management system.
