Company Re-certification System
- If you do not complete the digital renewal, your account will be deactivated.
- The CFIA will remove from the registry any companies that have not renewed their registration for more than five years.
- The company can check the status of the application by logging back into the digital platform.
- The process will take 24 hours, provided that the information provided and the responses from each of the responsible professionals are entered correctly.
- Payment must be made online through the CFIA Payment Portal, or the payment receipt must be uploaded to the digital platform. If payment is made but the renewal process is not completed, the payment will have no legal effect and the company will be deactivated.
- If you have already submitted the SME certificate issued by the MEIC to the CFIA, please check its expiration date. If it is about to expire, you must submit your application well in advance of the expiration date.
- If the SME certificate issued by the MEIC expires, you must submit a new, valid certificate to dep.registro@cfia.cr so that the CFIA can update its records and apply the discount to your annual fee. If you pay the annual fee and subsequently submit the SME certificate issued by the MEIC, no refund will be issued.
- The professionals responsible must be licensed to practice and up to date with their professional association dues as of the month in which the application is submitted. Otherwise, the platform will not allow you to proceed with the application.
- Companies that have not renewed their registration with the CFIA for more than three years, or that have changed their corporate name, corporate purpose, or legal representatives, must submit a digital certificate of legal status issued by the National Registry of Costa Rica, with an issuance date within the last 15 calendar days.
